Alabama great Julio Jones makes long awaited return to the NFL
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

After going unsigned for the first six weeks of the season, former Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones is back in the NFL.

It was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Jones has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as he will team up with other former Crimson Tide players Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Landon Dickerson offensively.

Jones last played with the Tampa Bay Buccanneers in 2022 where he appeared in 10 games catching 24 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

Not only will he be joining several former Alabama players but Jones is also teaming back up with wide receiver AJ Brown who he shared the field with during his one season with the Tennesee Titans in 2021.

Jones first entered the league in 2011 as a first-round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons where he instantly became one of the top receivers in the NFL. In his 10 seasons in Atlanta Jones caught 848 passes for 12,896 yards and 63 touchdowns while helping the team reach the Super Bowl in 2016.
